Can I put you on hold?

ဖုန္းေျပာေနခ်ိန္မွာ “ေက်းဇူးျပဳျပီးေစာင့္ေပးပါဦး" လို႔ေျပာခ်င္ရင္ ယဥ္ယဥ္ေက်းေက်းဘယ္လိုေျပာႏိုင္မလဲ။ လြယ္ပါတယ္။ “Can I put you on hold?" လို႔ေျပာေပးပါ။ “Please wait." နဲ႔အဓိပၸာယ္အတူတူပါပဲ။ ျမန္မာေတြေျပာေနက်အတိုင္းေျပာရမယ္ဆို “ဖုန္း ခဏေလာက္ကိုင္ေပးထားလို႔ရမလား" ေပါ့။

ဥပမာ..
“Can I put you on hold for a minute? Someone's at my door."
ဖုန္းခဏေလာက္ကိုင္ေပးထားလို႔ရမလားရွင္။ တံခါးမွာ တစ္ေယာက္ေယာက္ ေရာက္ေနလို႔ပါ။

ေနာက္ထပ္ ဥပမာေလးေတြ

A: “Can I speak to the manager?"
ကြ်န္ေတာ္ မန္ေနဂ်ာနဲ႔စကားေျပာလို႔ရမလား။
B: “Can I put you on hold for a minute? I'll see if he's here."
ခဏေလးဖုန္းကိုင္ေပးထားလို႔ရမလားရွင္ (ေက်းဇူးျပဳျပီး ခဏေစာင့္ေပးပါ) ။ သူဒီမွာရွိသလား ကြ်န္မၾကည့္လိုက္ပါဦးမယ္။

A: “Hello, ABC market? Do you have any fresh raspberries?"
ဟယ္လို ေအဘီစီေစ်းကလားခင္ဗ်ာ။ ခင္ဗ်ားတို႔မွာ ရတ္စဘယ္ရီသီးေတြ ရွိပါသလား။
B: “Can I put you on hold while I go and see if we have any left?"
ကြ်န္ေတာ္တို႔မွာ က်န္ေသးသလား သြားၾကည့္ေနတုန္း ဖုန္းခဏေလာက္ကိုင္ထားေပးႏိုင္မလားခင္ဗ်ာ။

ဆရာစည္သူထက္
